Today's Healing Thought

As I wrote to a good friend, who is a recovering alcoholic, I realized this quote (from the monthly mailing I received from the mortuary) applies to various situations, not just my own grief.

"Recovery is not a process we can will, but consists of experiencing many small deaths, the passing of significant anniversaries, until our identity is solid and natural in the pronoun "I."--Mary Jane Moffat

So true.  It's still difficult for me not to say "we."
